Tv and pic edits inturrupted by mail crashing
I was attempting to watch TV and edit some pictures but something had to deny me. I’m still not sure what but something freaked out my server pretty bad. Of course Murphy was in full effect and I slept through the 3 phone calls and 2 text messages I got about it. I was up insanely late last night followed by up -way- too early this morning so I had to split the night’s sleep into a couple shifts. This was my own silly fault. I knew I had to be up early and stayed out against the rational part of my brain. The new house room in Risque compelled me, though. What was I going to do? Anyway…where was I? I think I need another nap.
Nurse Jackie and photo editing and WordPress hacking and laundry
It’s Thursday night and normally you’d find me hanging at Beer and Blog but I have about a thousand things to do tonight and I’m going to have to let the social stuff slip for the day. “Nurse Jackie” and laundry aren’t the things keeping me home tonight. Those are just bonus events that are keeping me occupied while doing all that other stuff. So three sets of photos to slog through and I have to get some progress on this WordPress project that Hawkins pulled me into. He’s always doing that but it’s also always fun.
War is hell
I haven’t seen “Band of Brothers” since watching it as it was broadcast back in ’01 and for some reason I’ve had a hankering to watch it again. I started it the other day and I forgot how it was structured. The first 3 or 4 episodes are exciting and very “up”. Then it turns into a bit of a downer. I’m in the downer chunk of episodes tonight. Everyone is freezing, getting blown up, getting shot…which all makes sense. It’s a series about war, I get that. It’s just better when our side wasn’t on the receiving end.
I’m a little nervous to go to bed tonight. This morning the cat had a nightmare or I pushed him in my sleep or something because he freaked and shredded my arm pretty good while jumping off the bed. Let me tell you, that is -not- the way you want to get woken up in the morning. Pain, adrenalin, fur and bloodshed. The best part was realizing that I was making sure Pixel was OK before I stopped my bleeding. It’s like being in an abusive relationship sometimes. “I’m sorry baby, I won’t make you hurt me again”.
Vampire stories are all so complicated
I don’t know exactly what the deal is that vampire stories are insanely complicated and frequently super emo but it is a universal truth. I can’t even blame Anne Rice. Bram Stoker started it and he set the tone forever. I’m watching “True Blood” and I actually like the show but it is funny how it just follows this tradtion with gusto. The biggest problem with this show is that after watching a couple episodes I’m speaking southern. It’s insidious how it sneaks into your language.
Continuing immobility
I’m not sure what is worse than hammered crap but that’s how I’m feeling today. I’m watching “Bones” and playing with camera stuff. Lots more “Bones” than camera stuff due to the levels of concentration I’m able to bring forth right now.
Getting ready for the finale of “Lost”
The season finale is upon us. I predict much wailing and gnashing of teeth by the time the episode ends. There is simply no way it’s going to be over and I’m going to be happy about waiting 9 months to see the next episode. I’m 4 episodes behind right now though and I’m going to a live watching on Wednesday so I have to get caught up quick!
A lot of motion for “The Office”
I tried a handful of pictures but there’s too much motion to get a nice clear picture. A dance club in the basement office? Brilliant! This picture turned out fun though so I’m keeping it. I’ve got some computer messing about to do today so I didn’t have a whole lot of mobilitity. I have had a whole lot of TV though. I haven’t turned it on since something like Thursday a week ago which means there’s a whole bunch of shows I have a couple of. I also had a slew of “Dollhouse” to watch. That show started out a little rough but the story has been kicking in quite nicely. It’s a little more like “Buffy” and less like “Firefly” but, still, getting good.
