Die Hard and audio adjustments

Ma’s stereo has been acting somewhat spastic with the sound levels and she needed some shelves hung up so Alex and I came out to Boulder City to help with some strong manly things like lifting and electronics. “Die Hard” was on TV and if there’s anything worse than an R rated movie on regular TV I’m not sure what it is. “Yeah? Well yippee kayay M…” and commercial. Seriously. It’s ridiculous. Make it stop

I really wish this show had someone else starring in it

I am feeling like absolute crap today. The sickness that has been creeping up on me all week has landed. I worked some earlier but had to stop for some healing naptime. Now I’m catching up on some TV and trying for some lightweight work but I’m not sure any of that’s going to get done. I worship at the alter of Whedon but Dollhouse isn’t his best effort. My biggest problem is not the story, which I’m actually pretty happy with, but his choice for the lead role. I don’t know if Eliza Dushku is just phoning in her performance because the show’s ending after this season or if she’s always been this bad in it but I swear she’s getting worse. I didn’t expect another Firefly but damn, Joss…you can do better than this.

Wiiiiii

Merry Christmas everyone! We all banded together and got Manduh a Wii so to throw her off the scent I brought one of my Wiis over to play for the weekend. We’ve been playing World of Goo which is -totally- worth the $15 and a fun multi-player game too if you have some people you can work with as a team.

Nathan!

How is it there was an entire season of a Nathan Fillion show that I’ve never even heard of?! I depend on you people to tell me things like this. I’m trying to train myself to be able to work and watch TV at the same time but that’s really hard. I may have to give up though. It’s pretty complicated. TV while editing photos or doing chainmail totally works but trying to program with people talking is just killing me. I’ll just have to finish this show and put the headphones and music back on.

Finishing up on TV before the new season

I completely forgot “Psych” was even on television right now. I looked up tonight and realized I had 3 episodes to watch. It’s not the worst thing ever to sit and sip a cocktail and watch a really funny show. Mostly I have to get these all watched and get ready for the fall lineup. Honestly I’m not sure I’m super excited about anything coming back but “Lost” and that’ll be a while. Until then I’ll have emo medical drama to keep me company…after finishing “Psycn”, “True Blood” and “Hung” of course.

The Wire and WordPress hacking

So Friday night, somewhere whilst I was downtown, I realized there was a puke event on my horizon. Not a drinking related one because I wasn’t drinking that night because my tummy was a little flopsy. A little flopsy because a full blown problem later on. You know the kind. You just know you’re going to jerk the cat but you -really- don’t want to. I was just hoping I could make it home before it hit. I did, barely, and then dealt with all kinds of fever for the rest of the night. That pretty much took care of my weekend. I spent the whole thing sleeping and being intensely sore.

With all that in mind and an upcoming trip this weekend I’m taking it very easy. Nothing but “The Wire” and relaxation and sleep early. I’ve already seen “The Wire”, of course, but it seems to be the kind of show that would survive multiple viewings. Thus far it has, anyway.
