A faithful recreation
He’s even wearing one of the hats he was wearing in the picture we’re copying! I’m very proud of this picture but have to give Matt props for coming up with the idea. We all (Ma, Matt, Club S and I) met up at Costco for a little pre-dinner shopping. Everyone had something to look for except for me…which is dangerous. I don’t need to be wandering around Costco without an agenda waiting for inspiration to strike. Last time this happened my bank account was -not- happy. I’ll keep it under control today, though…ooh, cameras!
So many choices
Matt’s gone into vapor lock and may have to be rebooted. He’s shopping for a hat and has waaayyy too many choices. As long as he doesn’t buy the one he’s wearing I don’t really care. I think he agrees with me that it’s hideous. On a positive note we had a nice dinner at Cadillac Ranch and then I got a new pair of shoes as Sketchers so all in all it’s been a very productive evening. Now I’m on my way home to bring some order to the chaos and do some laundry. Or I’ll continue reading like it’s going out of style…forgive me, I’m weak.
Prepping for a party
Samantha’s having a pot luck thing at her house and I’ve been tasked with bringing ice, soda and vodka. This I can handle. I’m at my local liquor store. It’s not the best store ever but it’s really close and has a more than reasonable selection of just about everything. They also threw in the bag of ice for nothing since I was getting a couple bottles each of booze and soda. I just -know- I’m going to be up way too late tonight. I can feel it. Well, tomorrow there’s always coffee.
Im such a yuppie
I decided that what I wanted to do more than anything else this weekend was read a book. Preferably more than one. To that end I have made a foray to Borders for a couple books. 6 books later I was doing my best to wear blinders and just get to the register before I saw anything else. Of course they had a book I wanted in the register impulse aisle…bastards. Someone who planned Town Square totally has my number. There’s a Borders right next to a Whole Foods within walking distance of a Teavana and an Apple store. They might as well stick a vacuum hose in my wallet and be done with it. Whole Foods is where I am right now. This place continually surprises me by how expensive it is. Mostly it’s expensive because I tend to come here for specialty items but still it catches me by surprise. Thus armed with food and books I’m aiming to go home and read until I have to go to work on Tuesday morning with only the minimal required stops for sleep. Food and bathroom breaks don’t really slow down the book train. That’s why reading is awesome, kids.
More movies
I got some good movies yesterday, so today I see what Target has to offer. I was hoping for Kill Bill I & II but they couldn’t supply it. I’ll try “Swimming with Sharks” and “Badder Santa” instead. I’m also getting cleaning supplies for the cleaning extraveganza tomorrow, for tomorrow my apartment gets clean.
Frys run for Bolivia
Since Dad is going to Bolivia next week he got some requests for some technology you can’t get there. Specifically an iPod and some USB keys. We found everything we needed and more but cashier #2 is making life difficult. It would be easier to stage a hostile takeover from an ATM than it is for her to complete our very simple transaction.
