Much better
I’m feeling better but still really sleepy as my body combats this cold. I’m just working my way through some comfort movies that I haven’t seen in a while. Pixar is always good for that. I’m not sure why but I feel that after this the Bourne series is calling me. All I did was sleep today so I’m pretty sure that I could last through all 3 of them. Guess we’ll see.
I really wish this show had someone else starring in it
I am feeling like absolute crap today. The sickness that has been creeping up on me all week has landed. I worked some earlier but had to stop for some healing naptime. Now I’m catching up on some TV and trying for some lightweight work but I’m not sure any of that’s going to get done. I worship at the alter of Whedon but Dollhouse isn’t his best effort. My biggest problem is not the story, which I’m actually pretty happy with, but his choice for the lead role. I don’t know if Eliza Dushku is just phoning in her performance because the show’s ending after this season or if she’s always been this bad in it but I swear she’s getting worse. I didn’t expect another Firefly but damn, Joss…you can do better than this.
Chainmail and Scrooged
Having a new projector bulb means I can watch TV in the living room again which means I can do some chainmail again. I’ve literally not picked up the pliers since March or so. Some of that is bulb, some of it was time constraints, a lot had to do with just not feeling up to it while the year was busy sucking. Much of that has changed though and tomorrow starts my first day of being differently employed and the dawn of a new, weird, era.
New projector bulb, yay!
As Hawkins has already helpfuly pointed out…oh, actually he didn’t say the name of the movie yet. We’ll leave it a mystery for now. The bulb has been getting dimmer and dimmer for quite a while but I’ve been too busy to watch TV out there so it didn’t really matter. Last week I finally ordered a bulb because I wanted to use the Wii the other day and it was practically unusable. The nice thing is that my projector has been around long enough that I’ve found generic bulb for half the price I’ve been paying. Score!
You show ‘em how to make a comic movie, Favreau
I’m sitting at home re-watching a modern day classic. “Iron Man” is such an awesome comic book movie and I just can’t believe my friend Donald hasn’t seen it. I couldn’t abide that and so, even though I watched it about a week ago, we’re watching it again.
A classic while cleaning
My room’s been a little chaotic lately so tonight’s my night to do something about it. I’m going out of town and don’t want to come back to the mess. To that end I’ve put on a movie I’ve seen a thousand times and don’t need to pay that much attention to. That movie is “The Goonies”. I’m actually having a hard time just listening to it. It’s been a little while since I’ve seen it so I’m finding myself actually watching it more than I thought I would. Not all my childhood movies have withstood adult scrutiny but I’m happy to say that so far, this one has. The product placement is a little out of control but, hey, that was the 80′s for you.
Big, blue dong: longer and uncut
Watchmen (The director’s cut) came out today and I put it in immediately upon coming home. It’s a little over 3 hours long so I had to start it quick to be done by bedtime. I’m not sure I’m going to make it. Personally, I really liked the theatrical release so I’m hoping for just a little bit more of the same with the director’s cut.
