Rango!

Horrible picture I took but Ma, The Sibs, Club S and I are going to watch “Rango”. I’ve heard very mixed reviews of this movie but I’m going with the fact that I love both Gore Verbinski and Johnny Depp and the animation looks really, really good in all the previews I’ve seen. I’ve heard the animation is even better than a Pixar movie and -that- I just absolutely, positively had to see for myself.

Goonies 25th Anniversary

Hawkins has never seen Goonies. I’ve tried to fix this but it never quite works out. Thankfully tonight, for the 25th Anniversary, he got the disc and we’re having a viewing at his house. I’m not sure how it’s going to hold up because for me it’s a movie I’ve loved and seen a jillion times since I was a kid. Seeing it for the first time as an adult I’m almost positive the special effects are going to leave something to be desired but I think it will be OK. Regardless, I’m giddy, I freaking love this movie.

Much better

I’m feeling better but still really sleepy as my body combats this cold. I’m just working my way through some comfort movies that I haven’t seen in a while. Pixar is always good for that. I’m not sure why but I feel that after this the Bourne series is calling me. All I did was sleep today so I’m pretty sure that I could last through all 3 of them. Guess we’ll see.

Chainmail and Scrooged

Having a new projector bulb means I can watch TV in the living room again which means I can do some chainmail again. I’ve literally not picked up the pliers since March or so. Some of that is bulb, some of it was time constraints, a lot had to do with just not feeling up to it while the year was busy sucking. Much of that has changed though and tomorrow starts my first day of being differently employed and the dawn of a new, weird, era.

New projector bulb, yay!

As Hawkins has already helpfuly pointed out…oh, actually he didn’t say the name of the movie yet. We’ll leave it a mystery for now. The bulb has been getting dimmer and dimmer for quite a while but I’ve been too busy to watch TV out there so it didn’t really matter. Last week I finally ordered a bulb because I wanted to use the Wii the other day and it was practically unusable. The nice thing is that my projector has been around long enough that I’ve found generic bulb for half the price I’ve been paying. Score!

You show ‘em how to make a comic movie, Favreau

I’m sitting at home re-watching a modern day classic. “Iron Man” is such an awesome comic book movie and I just can’t believe my friend Donald hasn’t seen it. I couldn’t abide that and so, even though I watched it about a week ago, we’re watching it again.

Will the movie live up to this preview

I missed this in the theater so I’m just kind of waiting for it to be available for rent. I’m just relaxing and watching some trailers for past and present movies. I really wanted “Wolverine” to not suck but by every account I’m pretty sure it’s going to. I just get depressed because it didn’t -have- to suck. Look at the first X-Men movie. They did a pretty good job. Why they had to make the 3rd one so bad is beyond me. I’m eating dinner right now and forcing myself to stay awake a little bit longer. In about an hour I’m going to give in and crash but going to bed at 6:06 is just suicide. Travel and the great outdoors has just knocked me on my ass.
