Yes, my boss is
Wow, has it really been almost 2 weeks?! Holy crap. The worst part about my boss being a slave driving psycho is that he’s me! I have a whole bunch of projects all crashing together in some sort of a perfect storm of deadlines all of which are going to be delayed, are delayed or are really delayed. On top of that WordCamp OC is this weekend which is totally cool except that I’m speaking at is which means somewhere I have to fit in time to write a presentation. Busy is good but I could use the tiniest bit less of the busy right now.

As Manduh has explained it was time for a new monitor. Going backwards is never OK and even lateral movements are only OK in emergency circumstances. To that end when my 1600×1200 monitor died it was either a 1920×1200 or a 2560×1600 monitor. You can see which I chose. Justification? I don’t need no steenkin’ justification but I’ll throw one out there anyway. I’m at my desk 12 hours a day so any small improvement is magnified by the sheer amount of time it is repeated throughout the day, week, month. Having a larger monitor definitely makes for a more comfortable, smooth workspace and environment which makes my day just a little bit better, every day.
Toad trip! (maybe)
Manduh is considering an extended trip to Florida and she and I were being very silly on the phone talking about it and turning it into a road trip. We aren’t going to do it, let’s not be hasty here. Airplanes were invented for a reason. It’s still fun to imagine though. Mile upon mile of the vastness of America. 5 days in a car eating road food. Wait, that sounds like a horrible combination. Road food is not known to be super easy on the tummy. This trip is seeming like a worse and worse idea by the minute…
A little web design
We’re finally pulling the trigger and getting Matt’s website up and running. The new and improved designOUTSIDE.com is live and in color! It all started from what you see on my screen now.
Now that’s a desk
Slowly but surely I’ve been moving junk around and getting to the point where I could put the final piece in, and here it is. 86 inches of strong, smooth wood. It’s going to look like this for about 10 minutes and then I have to start moving stuff on to it but for this one moment in time I’ve managed to capture the clean, modern, swedish look that Ikea was going for when they designed it. I’ll take another picture in a week and we’ll see what happens. What it looks like when it’s a real command center.
Virus writers suck at spelling
I didn’t get Manduh’s computer completely fixed last week so I had to bring it home to get medieval on its ass. I just had to laugh at this attempt at hiding the virus process in the process list. With jeebus as my witness i will set this computer free.
Computer problems…I blame the background
Manduh’s computer is having some serious malware issues. I can’t blame her too much. They’re depressingly easy to pick up and I just went through this with Matt like a month ago. Although, upon reflection, I realize that I never seem to contract these myself and I’m on the Internet -a lot-. What the hell are you people doing to get this stuff?!
