Some more of Minnesota family Foell
Tonight we’ve gone to Key’s which Justin describes as “A good old fashioned greasy spoon”. It’s not too greasy but it does have some pretty good food and I’m happy we checked it out because our waitress, -finally-, has an awesome Minnesota accent. For days we’ve been here and everyone just sounds normal with little snippets here and there. Wildly disappointing.
The Baby Jules!
Hello Minnesota! It’s that time of year again and we have ventured halfway across the country on our annual trip. By convention, if not by actual rule, our trips are food-centric and this year I think we’ve outdone ourselves by planning on going to the Minnesota State Fair. From what we hear they have every kind of fried food on a stick you can imagine and we are going to try one of everything until our arteries clog shut.
Helping us on this journey as local guides are Justin, Jessi and the baby Jules. 11 weeks old and he is officially the cutest baby I’ve ever seen. We tried to go somewhere else for dinner but they were full and not kid friendly so we ended up here and I’m glad we did. They have a fantastic selection of really interesting pizzas and some great local beers on tap. Is there anything better in life than that?
I just know I’m getting crap for this one
Justin invited me to this “Best of” Drum Corps International thing that was showing at the movie theater. Being the band geek that I am, I decided it sounded fun and it was fantastic! It made me want to play again, except for all that, you know, marching around in the sun. This is why I much preferred orchestra. Justin and Jessi, their friend Poodle, his wife Tracy, Manduh and I all went. We decided to hit the Chicago Brewing Company beforehand for some food. I’ve not been there before and it was great. Good food, good prices and AND a 9 beer sampler plate. Ask for Mel, she was a fun waitress allthough she could have been a little quicker with the water refills. Tell her you heard she doesn’t like hotdogs. Definitly on the list for a repeat visit. All in all, an excellent night worthy of this lengthy post. And why, pray tell, am I going to catch crap for this post? Of all the people at dinner only 2 aren’t in the picture, one of us was holding the camera and the other got cropped off the left because I couldn’t get my chair back far enough when I was taking the picture. I was too busy making sure Jessi wasn’t making a funny face, which is her norm. If we don’t say anything, maybe Manduh won’t notice she got cropped, shhhh…
Puple teeth
Justins wife Jessi has new rubberbands on her braces. She has wonderful, clear braces and then puts purple bands on them so they come screaming out. I have to admit, I’m stumped. We decided to have an impromptu after work PTs thing. I was going to stay out but decided to go home instead. It’s been a really really long week.
