M Bar at M Resort

The M Resort wanted to showcase some of their restaurants so they planned a tweetup to show us what they had to offer. I really dig the M because they have a very sleek, modern look while still maintaining very achievable prices and a locals kind of feel. It’s a very delicate line to balance and they do it beautifully. The most important information is this: Select $5 cocktails and $7 appetizers, 24/7. And the these are not bottom of the barrel. Everything we’ve had has been absolutely amazing. I know. I was surprised too. It’s nice to know someone still has a good old school Vegas feel. Now if they could just do something about the line at the buffet…

38 Eiffel at The Colonnade

Hawkins and I are in Boston to meet with a client and we’re starting off this trip right with interesting drinks in the hotel bar. I got something called the 38 Eiffel and other than its unfortunate choice of stemware (I hate martini glasses) it’s a really fun, citrusy drink. I’m not going to get to see too much of Boston while I’m here but it will be nice to have some facetime with people we only ever talk to on the phone or via email.

Friday in Vegas

Mike (you remember the cyborg, right?) is back in town for the weekend so we we’re doing a relative rarity and going to the strip for some happy hour action. We’ve landed at Book & Stage in the Cosmo but this time there’s no music. This is what I like about this bar, it’s very multi-functional. In a normal day like today it’s a nice open lounge where you can hang with your friends.

Beer time

You know what the best thing about owning your own company is? Naps in the afternoon if you need one. The second best thing though is being able to drink a beer during “business meetings”. We’re having a bit of a partner’s meeting to talk about the direction and goals of our company and the beer just makes it all a little bit easier to talk about the serious stuff. Corporate america, you could stand to learn a little from us.

Shocking!

People are in need of a happy hour. Since the person planning it is Hope, happy hour is at Blue Martini. It isn’t original but at times, it does seem like our version of Cheers…kind of. OK not really. Mostly it’s nearby. It has newly installed fire though and that’s very cool.

Actual blog work at beer and blog

I haven’t made it to a beer and blog event for a while so I was very happy to be back at the original location at the Freakin’ Frog. We’ve had a pretty good turn out and as the photo shows, we’re actually doing some work on a blog. That almost never happens.

Goodbye Mike! (for a little while)

We’re giving Mike a mini going away party tonight. He is doing what most people can only dream of and taking 4 months off of work and going to live abroad. I’m don’t know exactly where he’s going and I’m not sure he does either but I think he’s hitting 5 continents. Africa and Antarctica seem to be off the list. For the rest it just seems like he’s going to bounce around and just have some good experiences and in the process make me unbelievably envious (or is it jealous, I can never get those straight) I have no ill will towards him I just really wish I could do what he’s doing. Bon voyage, dude.
