Die Hard and audio adjustments
Ma’s stereo has been acting somewhat spastic with the sound levels and she needed some shelves hung up so Alex and I came out to Boulder City to help with some strong manly things like lifting and electronics. “Die Hard” was on TV and if there’s anything worse than an R rated movie on regular TV I’m not sure what it is. “Yeah? Well yippee kayay M…” and commercial. Seriously. It’s ridiculous. Make it stop
Silly GPS
We’re on our way back from Phoenix and apparently this GPS could use an update because it doesn’t look like it’s been hipped to the new bridge over the Hoover Dam. Luckily our intrepid driver, Alex, isn’t slavishly following said GPS and landing us in the river. The new bridge across the dam is unbelievably cool, BTW. I don’t know exactly how much time it cuts off the trip to Arizona but it’s -definitely- a smoother ride.
Team Voltron 2010! (delayed a little)
We never got a Team Voltron trip last year so this trip to Phoenix to see the granparents is an ever so slightly delayed Team Voltron trip. Here’s a brief rundown of the past.
Gilroy Garlic Festival ’04 (Which was pre 606 and thus, not linked here)
The Strawberry Festival ’05
Ensanada Cruise ’06
Utah ’07
Sonoma Wine Country ’08
Minnesota State Fair ’09
Glendale Chocolate Affaire ’10
Yes, the Glendale Chocolate Affaire. We didn’t even know it was here but if we’re on a Voltron trip and there’s a food related festival or fair around you better believe we’re going to hit it up. We got stuff covered in chocolate and fair food. We introduced Zade to a fried Snickers and we introduced Myya to indian fry bread. I got some of the best hand squeezed lemonade I’ve ever had and about a pound of fudge. This trip was a resounding success by any ruler you’d care to use.
Now to plan for Team Voltron ’11, who knows what shenanigans we’ll get up to this year…
Whipping through Arizona
Myself and Club S are on our way to Phoenix to have a Team Voltron weekend with the sibs. We’re all meeting up in Phoenix to hang out with our grandparents, catch a little Phoenix flavor and get out of town for the weekend. I’m also very impressed with this picture. Usually 606 pictures are all very static. I almost never get ones with actual movement in them. I’m going to have to try for some more like this.
Someone’s sad
Malex is always so sad when one of them is missing for 606 time. Beautifully illustrated by Alex, here.
No Matt!
I had to use that subject. People told me too. This would be in reference to how happy Manduh looks and how sad Adam looks that Matt’s not here. I’m at CPK with Club S, Manduh and Ma before myself and the kids go to the mayor’s birthday party on Fremont a little later. I’m not sure what it’s going to be like but I’m looking forward to trying on of those martinis he’s always drinking.
Oh, I should explain the picture I took. I’m playing with another camera app on the phone today called quadcam. You pick an effect, number of and a duration between pics and it puts it all together thusly.
Those wacky guys
We’re having dinner at something kind of different for us, PF Changs. In the past I’ve been a little hesitant to come here because they’ve been…flakey, to say the least. Downright incompetent, to say the most. It’s been a while though so it sounded good and we’re giving it another chance. Luckily they’ve been quite good tonight. I forgot how good their mongolian beef was, too. That’s a reason to keep coming back even if their lemon chicken looks a little like it’s been coated in nuclear waste.
