A very dark picture from Chino Latino

Fine, I wish the iPhone had a flash on the camera. We are at Chino Latino. An Uptown (the area just South of Downtown Minneapolis) eating establishment that has both asian and latin american food. It’s not fusion, just lots of different dishes from each area on a menu that appears to shift constantly. It’s all served family style and everything I ate tasted great including the margarita so it’s definitely a place to check out. It was a little pricey but not out of control. Only one night left for tomorrow we head back home.

The Baby Jules!

Hello Minnesota! It’s that time of year again and we have ventured halfway across the country on our annual trip. By convention, if not by actual rule, our trips are food-centric and this year I think we’ve outdone ourselves by planning on going to the Minnesota State Fair. From what we hear they have every kind of fried food on a stick you can imagine and we are going to try one of everything until our arteries clog shut.

Helping us on this journey as local guides are Justin, Jessi and the baby Jules. 11 weeks old and he is officially the cutest baby I’ve ever seen. We tried to go somewhere else for dinner but they were full and not kid friendly so we ended up here and I’m glad we did. They have a fantastic selection of really interesting pizzas and some great local beers on tap. Is there anything better in life than that?

Dad is heading of to destabilize some foreign country or another so, keeping with tradition, we got the whole family together for dinner at the Outback before he leaves. The new addition this time would be cousin Desiree who, like Ma and Myya, doesn’t particularly want to be photographed so she’s here in person and in photographic spirit. We’ll just let the rest of them ham it up for the photo.

Back to Roadrunner after a long absence

I haven’t finished tagging all the old posts so I don’t know how long it’s been since we went to The Roadrunner but I do know it’s been a while. Possibly not since I got the iPhone because we well overlit this shot and I ended up with some really weird shadows on my face. The real story here is that I don’t think we’ve ever gotten service as bad as we did this night. It started out OK but went to crap -really- fast. Now I’m not unhappy we haven’t been here in so long. Luckily the good company made up for it.

Yes he really is that happy

Have you ever seen a man so happy to get tongs before? Alex, Matt and I are having a themed birthday party for Alex. Islands for dinner followed by the movie “The Island”. And that’s it. That’s as far as inspiration took us. We’re going to have crazy good fun though as long as Matt and I can keep the bickering to a minimum. Alex can’t really handle it.

Dinner at Memphic BBQ take 2millionsomething or another

Club S, Matt, Manduh and I are going to see “Dukes of Hazzaard”…I’m not sure why. It’s going t be hideous yet here we are. Further reviews to follow I’m sure.

Dinner with Club S

They called me out of the blue for dinner at Memphis and it saved me from the choice for what to do. I was sitting and being one with the couch and trying to decide wether to starve or venture forth for food. Problem solved.
