Don’t judge me

I, after hearing Amanda Palmer Performs The Popular Hits Of Radiohead On Her Magical Ukulele, got a bee in my bonnet about learning to play the ukulele. Apparently I’m not the only one. The uke is experiencing a bit of a renaissance right now as you cana see by this picture of the Ukulele Club of Las Vegas. It’s not just here. Take a look at youtube and there’s thousands of ukulele videos. I’ve wanted to learn some sort of a stringed instrument for a couple years now and I’m glad I’m finally giving it a shot. It’s a little more complicated than my old days of playing brass instruments. Brass is simple in comparison. There’s only 3 keys in a relatively limited configuration to make all the notes you want. This requires 2 hands and a lot of fingers and strumming possibly while singing. We’ll see if my coordination holds up. Thus far I’m having a great time trying it out.

I’m just astonished that there’s words in the post…..Correct me if I’m wrong but if I remember from our Hawaii luau, it’s pronounced something like Uku le le?
Yeah, I was surprised by that. I wasn’t aware that we’ve all been saying it wrong forever. “Ook Uh Lay Lee” is more correct.
