Goodbye Orange County

I like this airport. Nice and small. We had a very productive couple days and now I’ll be home for about 24 hours before we head to Reno. Once we’re back, staying home for a little longer than that sounds like fun.

Lucille’s BBQ

Hawkins and I flew to Brea for a couple days to meet with some clients. I’m not sure why but it doesn’t feel like being in California. I keep thinking I’ve travelled much further than we have. I’m not a fan of eating at some restaurant I can eat at when I’m home but Lucille’s is pretty good. We’re going to see Micky and the Motorcars tonight up in Hollywood. It wasn’t our original plan but if we’re within a couple hours of Micky, Hawkins has to go see them. It’s pathological. I can’t really complain too much, I like them too. The funny thing is that we’re going to see them this weekend in Reno as well but that didn’t seem to make a difference. I hear The Mint is a pretty cool club so I’m actually looking forward to it.

Goonies 25th Anniversary

Hawkins has never seen Goonies. I’ve tried to fix this but it never quite works out. Thankfully tonight, for the 25th Anniversary, he got the disc and we’re having a viewing at his house. I’m not sure how it’s going to hold up because for me it’s a movie I’ve loved and seen a jillion times since I was a kid. Seeing it for the first time as an adult I’m almost positive the special effects are going to leave something to be desired but I think it will be OK. Regardless, I’m giddy, I freaking love this movie.

Actual blog work at beer and blog

I haven’t made it to a beer and blog event for a while so I was very happy to be back at the original location at the Freakin’ Frog. We’ve had a pretty good turn out and as the photo shows, we’re actually doing some work on a blog. That almost never happens.
