Petite beers…lots of them
It’s Beer and Blog Thursday at Bar Louie. This was the tip of the iceberg. By the time we left there was probably twice as many empties as there are showing here. It’s hard to beat $1 mini-beers. The best part was that the group actually drank the bar out of them. There were none left. It was an amazing feat. I didn’t really participate because I’m not a fan of Corona. $3 Stellas on the other hand…
Reading and special beer
I got this book a week ago and it was the absolute top of my list for most exciting book to read right now. Since then I got another book and -another- book both of which are even more exciting than this one. Sometimes it’s like I can’t read fast enough to get to everything I want to. It’s a good week for reading. It’s also a good week for beer. Stone brewery has released their 13th anniversary brew and it is tasty. Unfortunately in the process of taking this picture I lost half a bottle to the carpet. Such a waste.
Monday at ye olde Blue Martini
Surprise, surprise, Hope is back in town for the week so it’s time for a very brief Blue Martini drink and dinner with those who showed up. It’s a light crew today. I’m not really sure where everyone else is but we can have fun without them, regardless. I was planning on being home reading tonight because my stack is growing but the books will wait. They’re patient like that.
Pahrump Winery and Chicken Ranch tour!
One of the nice thing about Beer and Blog is that people come up with great ideas for activities all the time. Someone suggested a trip to the Pahrump Winery, someone else suggested we rent a limo so as to not have to make anyone designated driver. Plans were set, limo was reserved and here we are. We knew it was going to be a good trip when we got into the limo and there were 6 bottles of wine chilled and ready for the trip -to- the winery. The winery was fun and lunch afterward was good but for dessert we went to the Chicken Ranch. That makes it sound dirtier than it really was. The ironic part about that side trip is that the reason we hit up the ranch was because girls in our group wanted t-shirts. Who am I to deny them their dreams of owning such a shirt? We’ve all had a great time and some of us had a little too much of a great time and are now napping peacefully.
Been a while since we had a food pic
Matt’s got some time to kill before he heads off to the airport so he and I met Dad at the Cadillac Ranch for some dinner and a beer or two. Dad and I made it here first and were starving so we started with an appetizer that didn’t stand a chance. This is all that’s left and Matt’s not even here yet. I’m barely up for this much activity and if Matt hadn’t asked I’d just be relaxing at home. There’s no way I’m seeing midnight tonight, weekend or not. I don’t know why but I’m just beat.
Can you read the shirt?
It’s Thursday night and for the first time in a couple weeks I didn’t have my Beer and Blog night crushed by other stuff going on. I needed a fun night with the social media crew. Hawkins is wearing this ridiculous shirt which, if you can’t tell (I certainly couldn’t) says “blog”. Usually he’s paying attention when I take the picture but his ADD is in full effect tonight so I caught him unawares.
Happy Birthday Adam!
We’re out at Ma’s house waiting to surprise Adam for his 30th birthday. We have cake, dinner at his favorite restaurant in BC and a surprise trip out to the makout overlook to watch the meteor shower. Tres romantic and also good for a dude who likes science and general nerdery as Adam does. Cheers to you, buddy!
