Happy Blue Martini Day
It just doesn’t feel right to not have a subject like that on a nearly weekly basis after the last couple months of holidays and birthdays so I’m making a holiday up. Technically, any Friday can be a Blue Martini day. I have way too much stuff to do tomorrow so I’m staying sober tonight but none of my cohorts feel that particular need for moderation tonight. Hey, I don’t judge. Given different circumstances I’d be joining them. Tomorrow is Wordcamp Las Vegas and I just know it’s going to force me to switch this blog from my half baked, home grown software to using WordPress. I’ve resisted it for years but I’m not going to be able to do it anymore. I can just feel it…
CES brings interesting people to town
The cool thing about knowing people is that they know yet more people and thus your social circle expands. Molly (the familiar face on the left) is in town For CES and she brought a friend…and here I have to make an embarrasing confession…I completely forgot her name. She introduced herself and then the guy in the middle there said his name was Tom (nice, short, easy to remember) and I guess I only had room for one name and his pushed hers out so now I officially suck. It gets worse 1) I gave her a 606diaries card so she might actually be reading this and b) We’re all going out again Friday night and I’m probably going to have to hear about it. If she hasn’t read about it I’ll have to bite the bullet and just ask her. I want to say it’s Melanie but I wouldn’t be willing to bet on it. I’m living a sitcom. We all even went to dinner after this at Delmonico’s (totally, amazingly sweet BTW) and so I have known her now -way- longer than I should have with not really knowing her name. The waiter even said it when he handed her back her card and I missed it! It’s hard being me sometimes.
Pizza and Slumdog OST…not bad
After seeing “Slumdog Millionaire” a couple weeks ago I couldn’t get the music out of my head. I finally broke down and got the album so I can at least listen to it at will. Don’s over here tonight and we’re ordering pizza and watching this Thai movie from the director of “Ong Bak”. It looks pretty sweet but it also has the possiblity of being kind of lame. There’s only one way to tell I guess…
Happy Birthday Don!
Don’s 30th has arrived. They’ve been partying at Mandalay since
Saturday which is a pretty good birthday any way you slice it.
So many miles, so little time
Heading back home after a nice extended family extended weekend. It’s been fun but I am -really- ready to be home and veg for a little while. No travel, no parties, no plans. I have an absolute -pile- of books that are begging me to read them and I just don’t think I can play coy and put them off anymore. I didn’t want too appear too eager but I don’t want them to think I don’t love them either.
The Wonder Twins…yeah, they planned for this
“Hey Matt, I’m going to get into my house pants, don’t -you- want to get into your house pants?” With these words I knew something was up but didn’t get to see the results for a little bit. Now you all get to see it too. There’s something wrong with these two, I just don’t know enough medical stuff to classify it properly.
Happy New Years Day from Desert Hot Springs
We’ve headed out to Desert Hot Springs for a not Christmas, not Thanksgiving family get together with the extended fam. I’d show you a picture of some of them but I just couldn’t deprive these two of the joy of being on the site. They just love hamming it up so much. As soon as the alarm went on they were already posed and ready. I’m not sure what there is to do in this place besides sit in hot springs and nap but that’s sounding pretty good.
