20 years old and still amazing

“Batman: Killing Joke” is one of the first really good Batman stories to come out. Along with “Arkham Asylum”, “Year One” and “The Dark Knight Returns” this rounds out the really excellent and required Batman reading list. If you’re a fan of the new Christopher Nolan Batman movies then these are excellent and full of good backstory to enrich your Batman experience. If you prefer the older Batman movies there’s no hope for you and may god have mercy on your soul. A slightly newer book to try out is the Azzarello/Bermejo “Joker”. Read it with Heath Ledger as the voice being The Joker in your head and you won’t be disappointed.

Catchin’ up on some TV

“The Office”, still a fun show! I’m sad because once I’m done with these last 2 shows I’m all caught up on TV. Then what am I going to do?! Luckily they’re still making more TV. TV studios are cool like that. Unfortunately most of those shows are crap but there’s at least a handful of good ones. I heard they canceled “Pushing Daisies” though. That really sucks but at least we got most of 2 seasons out of it and that means Brian Fuller will probably get to make more shows.

Christopher Lambert, actor, genius

Don is over for the next movie in the Christopher Lambert series. Last time we watched “Mean Guns”. I wouldn’t recommend that one. “Night Moves” is on tonights menu and it’s not bad. It’s not great but after the other one, it’s Oscar worthy. Next time it’s “Greystroke” the Tarzan movie or “Highlander”. I’m ready for a good Lambert movie. Oooh, maybe “Mortal Kombat”!

Still cuttin’ loose with the medical drama

I discovered that I am -way- behind on TV. I find I am in desperate need for an unplug and some TV time. To that end I’ve got “Grey’s Anatomy” and “House”. It’s hard to go wrong with that. I love the fact that the dead love interest is back on “Grey’s Anatomy”. It’s a little bizarre but it’s nice seeing something a little different.

Kinda dead for a Friday night

I’m picking up Nova at the airport and it is like a bomb went off in here. There’s hardly any one here. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen it quite this empty on a Friday night before. It’s really weird.

More shopping

I’m shopping but not for a tie. I’m just at Dillards getting some ever so slightly dressy clothes for the holiday party this weekend. I’m typing this -way- after the fact because I’ve been buried so I’m stopping this now to get caught up.

Greek and yummy

I met up with Don for some mediterannean food and catching up after vacation. He wanted tabuleh which isn’t really a greek thing but here it is, right on the menu. I’ve been here a few times for lunch and it’s been pretty good. I’m happy to report it’s also good for dinner. They have some good greek wines too which was a surprise because I didn’t even know the greeks made wine let alone good ones. I guess you learn something new every day.
