Comics are so trendy now

I’m watching “Bones” because I don’t have anything better to do and my book is really big and complicated and I just don’t have the energy to take it on right now. Some nights you just have to seriously veg out. Tonight’s that night for me. I’m not even chainmailing while I watch TV. My sum total of movement is to occasionally lift my arm to sip from my wine glass. When it’s empty, even that movement will be gone.

Friday happy hour

Hope and Don have graciously allowed us into their home once again for some BBQ and Rock Band fun. It’s nice to not be just Friday evening bar consumers and instead, enjoy company with some good friends. Drunk friends anyway. Regardless, a good time.

Louis C.K. Restores my faith in humanity

I saw him a couple weeks ago live and now he has a new Showtime special, I’m in heaven. There’s a possibility I could get sick of him but I think that’s pretty remote. He has a gift to be funny and honest without being offensive. He bags on his family constantly but still manages to show how much he loves them at the same time. It’s a rare gift and I’m glad he’s using it for good. I’m spending the evening unloading and editing Disney pictures from 3 different cameras. Thankfully I have multiple camera/vacation picture experience so it’ll go fairly quickly.

Happy birthday Samantha!

Yup, another birthday. I think this is the last one for a little while though. She decided to keep it small so it’s just the three of us at your favorite and mine, PF Changs. I like the food here but have gotten some spotty service at best. We’ll see if they can throw off the shackles of the past and not suck at getting the good food we actually ordered to us in a timely manner. Until then, there’s sake.

The patient on the operating table

So yesterday, I’m 250 miles away and my server goes down. It’s been kind of flaky this last week but I didn’t have time for serious inspection before the weekend so I was hoping it would just live until I got back from Anaheim. It didn’t. We dropped by the colo facility on the way home and grabbed the server for some triage. I’m not sure but I think the damage may be less extensive than first imagined but we’ll see.

It’s a Knott’s Scary ghoul!

Since Disneyland is shutting down early for the aforementioned Cyrus’ spawns birthday, we headed down the street to Knott’s Scary Farm. I’ve always wanted to go and I’m not disappointed. There are psychotic clowns -everywhere- and they are zeroing in on the teenage girls who are screaming quite appreciatively. It’s pretty awesome to be a spectator. Thus far they’ve left me alone but the night is young.

Disneyland would be even better with more people

Earlier it was full but as it gets later, I swear there’s more people showing up. I don’t know if they’re just not letting people go home or what but it’s ridiculous. Maybe it’s the 20,000 people who are here for Gay Days or the umpteen thousand who are here for Miley Cyrus’s birthday tomorrow but the place is just wall to wall people and getting worse. Other than that we’ve had a great time.

PS: No I’m not here for Miley’s birthday, I’m here because I’m gay, I promise

PPS: That also is a lie, I’m not here for either of those reasons but if you had to pick one, being gay is less embarrassing than being 33 and paying $250 to see Miley Cyrus at Disneland.
