Is it wrong to love a man as I love Kevin Smith?

I’m at a sneak preview of “Zack & Miri Make a Porno” and I’m reaaallly looking forward to it. I’m always a big fan of Kevin Smith’s movies and especially liked Clerks II no matter what all the haters had to say. I managed to find some screening passes for this movie and being the fanboy I am, seeing the movie a little over a week early is not something I’m going to pass up. Oh, and that’s totally not an actual picture from my phone. I found a poster and took a picture last night with the phone but due to some mishap it completely failed. You know, I do this (almost) every day. You’d think I’d know what I was doing.

Edit: It was everything I thought it would be! I laughed the entire time. It’s the funniest movie I’ve seen in quite a while. It’s also a really sweet romantic comedy and has a bunch of people making a porn. It’s a recipe for awesome, cooked to perfection.

It’s so cuuute

A while ago Matt told me about these really cheap, tiny Acer laptops and I thought he was crazy. The price he said was just too low. Turns out he was a little off on the price but not by much. Check out my new Acer Aspire One. 8.9″ screen, 16GB SSD hard drive and 1GB of RAM for $350. Yes, $350. For taking it on vacation and using it to check email or browse the web, it’s perfect. I love taking the Mac with me when I’m traveling but holy crap it’s heavy. It’s not heavier than others of the same price/quality and it’s certainly very portable compared to the early suitcase sized “luggables” but, all that aside, putting a warm 4.5lb weight in your bag can drag you down over time. We’ll see how it holds up under extended use but so far…I think I’m in love.

So many pictures to edit

So last night was the yearly Halloween blowout and geeeek and I set up a crazybooth. This is a large-ish area, nuked with light with a camera at one end. People, hopefuly inebriated, go into the booth and get their picture taken in crazy and innovative poses. We weren’t sure if it would work but it worked beyond our expectations. Everyone had a good time, we ended up with a buttload of great pictures. A buttload of pictures I now have to go through and edit one by one for the next few hours. That’s going to take a while but it’s still totally worth it.

edit:See some of the results at geeeek’s site

Happy Friday everyone!

Hooray the work is done, the work is done, the work is done…for today. There’s still work in my future but tonight is time for happy hour and stand up comedy with friends.

Yay emo medical drama! Don’t judge me, the bible says not to

I don’t know why but I like “Grey’s Anatomy”. It has its good parts and its bad parts and somehow good wins out or covers up the bad ones, I’m not sure which and I don’t care. I just enjoy watching the convoluted and tortured interpersonal relationships makes me happy in a weird way. Work was pretty stressful this whole week so I’m just home decompressing in a big way. I’ll probably add some “My Name Is Earl” and “Private Practice” into the mix as well and then go to bed early.

The dreaded Walmart

Geeeek and I had an awesome idea for the Halloween party this weekend and it has prompted a trip to Walmart. I’d prefer to do just about anything on earth other than go to this awful store but, sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet and cave to time restraints. I have to say that this one (on Marks) is about a jillion times better than the one on Serene over by my house. Better is a relative term but I’ll take what I can get.

Don’t worry, it’s a gift

I know that too many pictured from in a liquor store will make people worried so don’t worry, I’m not here buying for myself, I’m buying for a gift. I may walk out with a bottle of wine or 2 for myself but it’s not like I’m leaving with a crate of oh so tasty scotch. Thankfully I don’t like scotch that costs less than about $50 a bottle so that definitely keeps consumption down.
