Costume shopping

09.30.2008

It’s that time of year again and like always, I’m at a loss as to what I’m going to dress up as for Halloween. I’m getting a bunch of helpful hints (thank you everyone, keep them coming) but nothing really is standing out for me. I think for the F&F Ball I’m going to recycle the baby costume but I still have to come up with something for the real Halloween party and something relatively simple for work. I’m leaving the costume shop now but I am not really leaving with any more insight than I came in with.

Nearest reading material: “A killer combo of reggae and retro soul produced by Missy Elliot, it’s the best Lauren Hill song that Lauren Hill never did.” People Magazine movie review.

Nearest book: “He was about a hundred pages in and he couldn’t tell what he thought about it.” The Emperor’s Children by Claire Messud

BTW TOdd is on quite a roll with the posting and commenting, cheers to you!

You have the Emperor’s Children, Manduh? We need to talk about books more I guess. I bought it but haven’t gotten to it yet. How is it?

I got it as a Christmas present. It is good I think, it was a slow middle for me, but seems to have picked up. It is about some pretentious people so there are a lot of big words (Matt would hate it). I have about 1/4 to 1/3 left so I will let you know my review when I finish. Plus it has taken me awhile because I stopped to read the Twilight series.

    Time for an Internet meme

    * Grab the nearest book.
    * Open the book to page 56.
    * Find the fifth full sentence.
    * Post the text of the sentence in a comment
    * Don’t dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.

“Woven into this chant was a melody I had not heard in ten years, or since I had stood inside the Decade Gate at sunrise and watched its stone-and-steel doors grind shut on everything I had ever known”

If I did it at work you would’ve ended up with something from play and early development

Boooo for Halloween!!!! Not one of our sucker friends know of or are having a party to dress up to. WE SUCK! Maybe we’ll fly back that weekend. Now, what to wear?

  10. myyaonline says:

jessi, why don’t you and justin throw a halloween party?

  11. jessi says:

We live with mom and dad. And no matter how cool they are (Todd’s met them, they’re ok, huh Todd?), they prolly wouldn’t want us throwing a party like that. I actually said they wouldn’t mind, but Justin disagreed with me. It’s just not going to be the same. And to think, we talked Shannyn and her husband into having the party :(

  12. myyaonline says:

    i guess that makes sense

  13. Todd says:

They are cool but they’re still parents so…it would be weird :-)

“On many days, the sun doesn’t break through the high overcast until afternoon.” Sunset Western Garden Book. I don’t have anything interesting here at work.

Likely story, on a side note I met Clark Gregg on Saturday and I told him how much we all loved his movie. I told him Sam Rockwell was a great choice and I hope to see him do other movies … then I blew him.
