More TV yay!

09.29.2008

I’m using TV to avoid doing housework. The problem is that I’m watching the 3rd episode of “Fringe” and I just don’t think it’s going to make the 4th episode cut. It’s interesting but pretty formulaic at the same time which is kind of bad after only 3 episodes. We shall see what this week holds but I’m not holding my breath.

The ad at the top of 606 is not loading for me, do I need a special plug-in?

  2. Todd says:

OK, there is also a possibility that it might have not worked if you were using IE. Tell me you weren’t using IE…

  3. Manduh says:

Even I know not to use IE

  4. Matt says:

It works fine on my computer and it is running *shudder* Windows 2000.

  5. Alex says:

Making a website that can’t be viewed in IE is like serving sushi at a 4-yr-old’s birthday party: You really like it, and one or two of the kids might like it, but basically you’re gonna have a room full of hungry, pissed off 4-yr-olds who would rather go to Jimmy’s party at Chuck E. Cheese’s.

adam, that is why i love you. well, that and your huge…well nevermind.

  7. Adam says:

I think we have an imposter posting as myya…

  8. Adam says:

One thing I want to know re: “Zack and Miri”, when did Kevin Smith start using Judd Apatow’s casting director?

  9. Matt says:

I am choosing to ignore the obvious stealing of cast member from popular movies.

  10. Matt says:

    In your pants!!!

  11. Todd says:

You’ll probably need this little known plug-in called flash.

  12. Todd says:

Adam, I was going to call you a condescending prick but I can’t since that’s the same thing I was doing :-) Although if you are using IE you should be shot for endangering your computer in such a way.

Unfortunately the “embed” code provided in that flash animation was completely retarded. It had it for every single method EXCEPT FOR “I run my own software and none of these crap ass systems” so I had to cut and paste the source out of Kevin Smith’s blog since he also declines to use any of those crap ass systems. There was code I ignored when I cut and paste but it was possibly required to make IE work. Anyway, I fixed it when I posted the earlier comment and if you still can’t see it, may god have mercy on your soul…

  13. Adam says:

That was an interesting take on embedding, I haven’t seen them split out for each individual Web 2.0 service like that… I was expecting a youtube-like embedding where they give you an actual link.
But yes, I am using IE and yes, I can see the video now, so you definitely fixed whatever was wrong.
Now about that double-login problem with 606…

  14. Yomamma says:

What is the best thing to use that is not IE?

  15. Manduh says:

I use safari on my mac and firefox/mozilla on my pc

  16. Adam says:

Does anyone use safari on the PC? Is it comparable to the Mac version or do you still recommend Firefox?

  17. Matt says:

I recommend Firefox, but I have no expertise in any of this stuff, Todd likes Opera.

  18. Sponge says:

    idiot

  19. Todd says:

It’s the return of Sponge! I use Firefox 99.9% of the time with no issues. Once a month or so I go to some backwater that won’t work for some lame reason or another. I don’t use Opera anymore. I had to give up because they suck at handling javascript and I got tired of making excuses. And Adam, IE, dude…that thing is so dangerous and full of security holes. It’s like unprotected sex with a hooker, yeah, it works like you want it to but is it really a good idea?

  20. Matt says:

Only if you say “Money’s on the dresser chocolate” after wards.

  21. Matt says:

Or only if you make her clap her hands when you are in the other room to make sure she isn’t stealing anything.

  22. Matt says:

It’s okay if she says she is clean though, right…. ? …

  23. Matt says:

I only use IE for internet radio because serious for some reason works better on IE.

  24. Sponge says:

That’s right, I’m back bitches. I’ve been silent too long. Fear my wrath like you fear Sarah Palin being VP.

  25. Adam says:

The Sponge mystery deepens! If we look back to prior Sponge posts we see a lack of capital letters used:
    Old sponge

This new Sponge likes to use caps and a bit more punctuation… We need a forensic analyst to determine if this is, in fact, the same Sponge. I remain skepical, and maintain that Sponge is just a portion of the internet that has become self-aware and plays by its own rules.

  26. Sponge says:

Oh, it’s the same Sponge alright. I’m like the ebay sniper you all hate. Just patiently waiting to pounce.

  27. myyaonline says:

that reminds me, I have equilibrium now if anyone wants to borrow it :)

  28. myyaonline says:

I also have reign of fire :)

  29. myyaonline says:

    bees?

  30. myyaonline says:

i think sponge should give us a hint. have you ever been in one of the 606 daily photos?
