Scully!

It’s day 3 of the editing spree. Jessi wanted a Scully picture and she’s doing me a huge favor so I obliged. Otherwise I was going to go with a picture of dinner. You know how those turn out so you can thank Jessi for this picture. I’m really glad she suggested it though because we ended up with what is arguably one of the best pictures I’ve ever taken. How I managed this with the cameraphone, I don’t know. I don’t think I could have done it on purpose with my nice camera.

The Sixies has a venue!

Are you all ready for the awards? Good! I know I am. Remember, Saturday, 1PM. Food will be provided but bring your favorite beverage and a swim outfit. It’s going to be a hot one and a dip in the pool sounds oh so inviting. See you all there!

Watch the magic happen

I’m at Justin and Jessi’s with some last minute work happening on the video. It’s still so magical watching it all come together. Have I mentioned lately that I have the coolest friends ever? Justin and Jessi for making this video awesome and Alex and Myya for hosting this weekends shindig. You guys rule!

Ye olde Yardhouse

GO SEE “IRON MAN”! Right now. It’s the weekend and you don’t have anything more important to do. This is possibly the best comic book movie I’ve ever seen. Forget how disappointed you were with “Spider-Man”, “Fantastic-4″, “X-Men”, the older Batman movies and all the Superman movies ever made. This is more like “300″, “Batman Begins” and “V for Vendetta” quality. I can’t point at a single thing I didn’t like about it. John Favreau came to big budget action directing with a vengence and has jumped up in my estimation even further than he already was. It had character development, a compelling storyline with humor and drama in all the right parts and, AND it had some of the best special effects I’ve ever seen. I’ve been reading things about how the CGI and practical effects are blended so seamlessly you can hardly tell where one ends and the other begins. That’s a bold statement so I’ve been saying to myself “we’ll see about that”. Well I saw and it was wonderful. If this is any indicator of the quality of movies for the summer it is going to be a great summer indeed.

Following up “Iron Man” with a trip to the Yardhouse was pretty much a perfect evening. They amount of beer they have on tap is staggering. We didn’t have a big tasting or anything though. Just picked one and enjoyed it. The last couple weeks have been pretty much unadulterated stress and I needed a day like this in a big way.

Earl is the awesome

Of course I am referencing a rather prurient interest at t he moment because there are two beautiful women on the screen and one of them licked the other one. Mostly “My Name is Earl” is awesome because it’s consistently hilarious. This scene is actually way funnier than it is “hot”. Yeah, I know, it’s hard to believe but totally true. Thank you NBC for keeping this amazing show around for at least 2 seasons more than I ever thought it would last.

Pimp my bag

As mentioned yesterday, Ma fixed my bag very nicely. I had previously thought of covering up the unfortunate color scheme with patches but then realized it would clash something awful. Now that it’s fixed though I don’t want the patches to go to waste. To that end I’m sewing them on…by hand…with a needle and thread. No thimble though. Evidently this is something missing from my sewing kit. I’ve just finished the Dharma Initiative patch and I’m really wishing I had a thimble because the Gir patch is a lot bigger and I’m calculating out the pain on a linear scale. This may be a multi-day project.
