More of the new “knee” of martial arts

Thank you, Adam for the name of this post. I’m watching “The Protector” again because I haven’t seen it in a long time and Don hasn’t seen it ever so it was perfect. Pizza and martial arts movies, does it get any better than this? We’re watching the Thai version, not the American version which means there’s more of the story that got cut out which made it pretty much impossible to follow in the theater. It jumped from fight scene to fight scene which, though exciting, doesn’t make for the best story to explain -why- there’s all the fighting. Yes, the story is important even in this kind of movie.

Work work work

I have an insane amount of work to get done by Monday so Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I’ll be working on it as fast as I can, as is evidenced here. This project is like a stone around my neck while I try to tread water but it’s going to kill me or I’m going to finish it…Personally, I’m hoping I finish it.

Water is necessary for all life!

Ma, because she rules, got me a water cooler for Christmas. I go through an obscene amount of water in the summer and having Sparkletts, or whatever, would help a lot in making sure I don’t have to get a bag of ice or bottles of water every couple days. Of course, Christmas was 3 months ago and it hasn’t exactly been real warm since then so it’s been sitting in the corner as a reminder that I have to do…something…but what is it. Well, this week it warmed up and I remembered what that white thing in the corner was: a wonderful, beautiful water delivery system that has cold water coming from it ALL THE TIME. 10 minutes later on the Sparkletts website and it is on its way. Thanks Ma!

Getting good!

This show worries me. I’m worried because it’s very “Arrested Development” like and we all know how that turned out. Badly, it turned out badly. I like to think that our TV watching audience has a place in their hearts for a quirky, intelligent show like this but, as we’ve seen in the past and talked about on here before (“Firefly”,”Wonderfalls”,”Arrested Development” etc etc etc) they don’t. Here’s to a great show while it lasts, thanks NBC for not sucking right now!

The Sixies ’07! Go Vote!

On the right you will notice a couple of links. View and vote for your nominees! You’re all right, it was a close call on some of these but the decisions have been weighed, my executive privilege has been exercised, the nominees have been whittled. This part’s easy. Go forth and pick your top one in each category. ———->

Why are you still reading this…GO! ———->

Don’t make me use the blink tag…you brought this upon yourself (if you aren’t using IE)…

The best reasons to watch this show thus far

After way too much travel and fun in the last few days, I’m ready to chill. I’m sitting here forcing my way through the first few episodes of “30 Rock” and I think I’ve finally gotten past the point where it was more or less unwatchable. I can do without Tracy Morgan but I don’t let him distract me from Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. Their dynamic is all kinds of fun to watch. I have a little more of this and it’s off to bed as early as I can stand it for some blessed, wonderful sleep.

Under her wing or wind beneath her wings?

I spent the day with the sibs, bouncing around LA. We did 3rd street in Santa Monica with Manduh’s friend Tracy and the baby A. We found a boba tea place which Manduh is going to try again and Matt may completely eschew, which is funny because he drank his whole tea but made faces the entire time. We then did dinner at my favorite, Tender Greens and then on to the airport. Days like this make me almost like LA. Days where I don’t drive actually, now that I think about it. I’m glad the sibs are there and enjoying themselves because it means I get to visit and have fun, but I don’t have to be there for all the stuff I don’t like.
