NOT a documentary

We’re actually sitting here playing Frogger, this isn’t some weird documentary. Samantha, specifically is the player. We hooked up the arcade controllers the other day after watching “King of Kong” and have been rediscovering the old games. Most of which suck, actually. Frogger was the gateway game to get Samantha excited about it too.

Hooray for Shawn and Gus

Matt reminded me the other day that there is a show that was on that I was completely forgetting to watch. I’ve been neglecting “Psych”! Totally inexcusable. Not to mention the fact that if I don’t watch I can’t see all the new ways they are stealing storylines from our lives.

Another brilliant documentary

I’ve been having one of those “watch movies and catch up on work” Sundays. I’d prefer to just watch movies minus the work but sometimes that’s just not in the cards. This screenshot is from “Air Guitar Nation” which is the story of the American Air Guitar Championship and getting an American winner to go to the world championship in Finland. It sounds odd but it’s uplifting and funny and engaging all at the same time. You really want these guys to win and halfway through you stop laughing at it and kind of buy in to the whole concept of air guitar as a sport. Highly, highly recommended.

Mmm falafal

Normally I ignore door spam. I don’t want to encourage the restaurants pasting my door with stuff I just have to throw away. I broke my rule recently though because we didn’t know what to do for dinner and as we walked up the stairs, there was a sign. Mediterranean food delivered. It’s been very good so far. Their falafals are a little spicy though, which is weird. Other than that everything else has been universally good and the hummus and pitas are fantastic. The best part is that they are FAST, really fast. Like 15 minutes from hanging up the phone there’s a knock on the door. I forsee a lot more of this restaurant in our future.

A tremenous nerdgasm

We’re not having an overly exciting Friday night. Instead we’re hanging out and watching “King of Kong”. This was a really good documentary and very enjoyable to watch but it just left me so pissed off at some of these people. It’s just a classic case of nerds protecting their tiny little fiefdoms and over dramatizing the most minute things. Still, HIGHLY recommended. It has a much wider audience than you might expect at first glance.

Not too much left

We’re on the last couple episodes of “Dead Like Me” and then we’ll be on to the next thing. Maybe movies, maybe more TV. There are just so many possibilities! I tried a little “30 Rock” the other day and I have a feeling it’s like “Arrested Development” or “The Office”, it’s going to get better with time but the first few episodes are shaky. After the first couple of them, the only reason I’m continuing on is because it came -highly- recommended.

Awww they’re so cute

You may recognize these two as our fashion consultants. Samantha called and said that they were having a slumber party, going to watch “The Notebook” and wanted to know if we could join them. Although a slumber party sounds like fun, it’s a work night, so we came over for dinner and a movie but had to skip the other part. Oh, and don’t let the picture fool you, they’re just posing for the pic since it was more interesting than watching Samantha boil pasta.
