I think I’m gonna output
We went to see “Cloverfield” and geeeeks face here kinds sums it up.
This isn’t a metaphor on the movie, he really does feel kinda sick.
The blairwitchesque camera shots have gone and made him motion sick.
Otherwise the movie was totally worth watching matinée price. Full
price…eh, maybe. I’d pay full but others are pickier about that than
I am.
Hooray for Psych!
There is absolutely nothing on TV so I’m unbelievably happy that
“Psych” is back. I’m always surprised by how much I miss this show.
Now I’m going to sit back and see what else they’ve decided to use
from our lives. We know you’re following us around, Shawn, and we want
residuals.
It’s so dark in here
Photos at the Roadrunner are the worst. Thank you Adamn and Myya for the lighting assist. The most interesting thing about the night were the Miller girls coming up to the table and trying to interest us in $2 millers which would enter us into a drawing for Lenny Kravitz tickets. There is not a single good thing about that promotion so I fear they’re in for a hard evening.
Finally getting to it
I’m watching “Purple Violets” finally. I downloaded this from iTunes ages ago but just never got around to it. Tonight’s the night and I’m giving it a shot. I hope it’s good. Mostly I got it to support the concept of downloadable movies. DVD’s are so yesterday. Really spinning disks of plastic to watch a movie. Our children will think we’re making it up.
Our game is better
“6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon” is fun but lacks the artistry and soul of “Hollywood and Vine”. I’m watching “Death Sentence” on the recommendation of my fellow movie nut Rob. We trade a lot of movies back and forth and since he was sick all weekend and watching a lot of movies he’s kicked out some (hopefully) excellent recommendations. This is the first of the bunch. He usually has good taste but after “Dead Man” and “6 String Samurai” I’m a little wary at times.
Leaving on a jet plane
We’re on our way to ye olde Oakland airport and after that I’ll be back to my normal life in Vegas. Well, as normal as life in Vegas can get I guess. There’s nothing like going somewhere else for a few days to really get a good perspective on how odd my little city is.
Molly in her element
Molly is being gracious enough to show me Berkeley today and I have to say hat if I were to live here, Berkeley would be where I’d land. San Francisco is just a little too much…everything. Berkeley kinda takes it own a notch in a lot of ways, although it cranks up the hippy dial a little more than is necessary. It’s a nice balance though. T-Rex for lunch has some amazing food for a bar. They also have a fantastic whiskey selection but we skipped that since it was only noon. We followed that up with a trip to the horse races. I’ve never been and she had only been once down in LA so we were wildly bad at it. It was still a lot of fun to try and pick the winners and watch the crowd and the horses. Totally an E ticket. Then came the Imperial Tea House which was really great except it makes me sad because I haven’t found anything like this in Vegas. Now we’re at Cato’s having a drink before dinner at Bay Wolf which has to be the best name for a restaurant ever.
It’s going to be hard to get back to normal life after a weekend like this.
