Wussy boy lives
The ren faire was this morning and it was fun as always. Although
after 6 hours of walking around I’m ready to stop. Enter “Heroes” and
all the rest of the television I missed whilst galavanting all over
the Bay Area.
More PTs Friday fun
We’ve once again wandered over to PTs after work. After 4 games of
pool and an indeterminate number of drinks, Friday has arrived. The
waitress and the first lady of the TBC are helping
out…<indeterminate deity here> bless America
Aaah it’s good to be home
After a week out of town I am unbelievably happy to be back within my comfort zone. Steiners is a good place to start. We know everyone there, the entire menu and all the barstools by name.
More geekery
Zendcon07…day 3. I feel like this is one of those desert diaries, like, day 3, we’re out of water and ate the last camel yesterday…Anyway, day 3, the conference is in full swing and the iPhone has managed to embarras me greatly about 2 seconds ago. I’m in a talk so I hit the mute button. Evidently, the mute button mutes everything EXCEPT the alarm. Guess what happened at 6:06PM, my alarm, in a quiet room full of geeks and a really good speaker. It was an exceedingly horrible moment. I think Alex might have actually died if it had happened to him. The speaker was Jay Pipes and he was brilliant, by the way. This was easily one of the best talks of the week AND I RUINED IT…well, maybe not that bad but it felt like it. Tonight is the Yahoo nighclub experience. They have an army of recruitment women here to help the experience out. It ought to be interesting.
We’re famous!
Day two of the Zendcon07 experience and it’s going well. Last year for us was a bit of a nightmare. We (the tech side) didn’t have nearly enough input into the process and it did not go well. This year I am unbelievably happy with the result. We managed to head off some potential disasters early on and it just goes to show what can happen when we all work together like a big happy family…which you can see if you zoom in on those booth pictures.
Good times in “the bay”
Today is the only day we really have for going out into the city so we’re going to take that opportunity and grab a couple cabs and hit up the embarcadero…area…district…whatever. Myself and 6 of my work cohorts are here at Zendcon07 and having some fun. Well, today was only the first day, full of in depth tutorial goodness but if I had to wager a guess I would say that fun is going to be had tonight.
Update: We crawled back to the hotel around 2:30AM. Fun was found. Fun was had. I think some fun is still stuck to my shoe. You know they close the bars in this stupid city? What kind of BS is that!?
Mmmmmm Fuddruckers…glaaaah…
Yeah I know I’m in SF and they have like a jillion great restaurants
but we don’t have one of these in Vegas and it’s near where I am so it
wins for my dining dollars tonight.
