Computer repair
10.25.2007
Well…repair may be overstating it. Fry’s called and said that my mighty macbook is back from Apple and all repaired. We’ll see what happens when I go pick it up. That means I’m taking a backup of my system now to restore to my old mac tomorrow. With any luck Apple will have pulled it’s head out of its ass and actually found my problem. I’m not being optimistic.

You sure do have to repair this puter a lot, mine has not had any troubles (touch wood).
could it be that it’s a Mac? Just an observation. Not putting Macs down but just saying.
“(touch wood)” sounds dirty. Isn’t it “knock on wood”
depends on whre you are from
For those keeping track I got the macbook back on Saturday AND IT’S STILL FREAKING BROKEN. I definitely got one from a bad batch. Manduh’s is find, geeeek’s is fine, all the loaners I’ve had (3 now) have been fine. It’s just my original model that sucks donkey wang. If they don’t fix it this time and I have to take it back again I just get a new model from Fry’s. I’m not saying I want that to happen but I -do- want a macbook without a broken screen. I guess we’ll see.
good luck!
Wait, who if fixing this, Apple people or Fry’s people? My streak of getting marginally to extremely quirky cashiers at Fry’s continued when I went on Saturday.
Apple is actually handling the repair. Fry’s is who I got the extended warranty with. What that means is that they send it to Apple and handle the repair shipping and stuff. The warranty also means that they get to give me a loaner while my laptop’s out. That’s the best part because every time I send it out it takes like a month to get back. After February it’s not under Apple warranty anymore but still under Fry’s warranty and if something happens after that it just becomes a replacement.
Let’s hope for a replacement then. And by replacement I mean you may have to deal with you other 8 computers in the mean time.
