Vegas at its best

I love Vegas. Its the weird stuff you fund all over the place that
does it for me. I’m at the Rio for Penn & Teller. My good friend Don
got tickets and we’re here for my birthday. I haven’t been to the Rio
for a while so a lot of what’s going on is new to me. The lady in this
pic is making me jealous with her crazy diablo skills.

Mattapalooza!

Happy birthday Matt! Not the normal Matt. This is an alternate Matt.
It’s his birthday and there’s no boob shaped cake to celebrate. I’m
actually kinda sad. He’s having a good time and that’s what’s important.

It’s been a while

Now that I tend to post straight from the phone I keep forgetting to go back and fill in the gaps. We hit up Red Robin for the first time in a long time and, with the exception of Matt, the gang was all here. Manduh, Ma and Club S. It was -supposed- to be a big 606 picture but here it is, 6:06PM and I sit alone. Menus it is.

28 Days -later-

Not to be confused with “28 Days” which is a -totally- different kind of movie. The roommate has never seen it and I want to re-see it which makes it a perfect candidate for kicking back and watching with some dinner and wine. I have a lot of movies in this category. Movies he should have seen but hasn’t and I’m always into a re-watch of a good movie. Yesterday was “Amos and Andrew” and before that was “The Long Kiss Goodnight”. As you can see there’s a theme. We do that a lot where one movie leads to the next. “Sunshine” led to this one. “Ocean’s 11″ and “Bourne Identity” led to the rest of those franchises. We finished the Christian Bale-a-thon a few weeks ago. There’s no telling what’s next. After this of course I’ll have to watch “The Notebook”.

Wow, this is complicated

Why do software tools have to suck. I can play movies with the iPhone so it’s time to make some and try it out. I have Quicktime (made by Apple), the Macbook (made by Apple) and the iPhone (made by Apple). QuicktimePro which I PAID for incidentally, is wrecking this process. It should be simple. Open the movie, export as iPhone movie, copy to iPhone. It isn’t working though. The sound is broken though so I’ve had to come up with a new method until they fix Quicktime. The new method is in the background behind the movie. This is what happens when geeks like us can’t get the easy, push-button tools to work like we want them to. At this point I have something that makes movies as good as Quicktime at half the filesize and the audio is actually in sync. It only took 3 days of pain to get working. I can watch movies on the phone. It’s like a portable DVD player almost. It’s going to be awesome for trips and stuff.

Happy Birthday to Me!

We’re having a little pool party/BBQ at Ma’s house for my birthday. It’s the big three-two! Hmmm…pool party, BBQ, Ma’s house, spent a good amount of time talking about ninjas vs pirates and yo-yo’s. I think I’m regressing back to 10 years old and I’m taking all of you with me.

Guess I have some reading to do

I finally consolidated all my books from various different places in
my apartment, Ma’s house, Matt’s house and multiple bookstores who
were holding books and waiting for me to show up and get them. Now I
just have to read them all. Even at my normal speeds this could take a
while. I should probably start with the books I’ve borrowed so I can
give them back to their respective owners. You know who you are and I
haven’t forgotten, just got a little backed up.
