Too cool for school

Me and my sister. I know what you’re thinking and, yeah, we pretty much rule. We’re hanging out with Ma and Club S in Boulder City tonight. Doing a little “Q” on the grill. Mmmm, so good.

Cafe ole! Noooonch.

This is what happens when I get a guess poster. Alex, what kind of subject is that up there? I think he kinda cracked under the pressure of having to think of something. I get it, I do. It’s nice to have someone empathizing with how complicated this can be. We got a group together to watch “Stardust”…again. This makes twice I’ve seen it…at full price no less. If you still haven’t seen it you should do something about that.

Just in case there’s any doubt

I do own a ridiculous amount of DVD’s. This is proof of it. Anytime I feel guilty about borrowing one instead of buying it, I just look at this stack and calculate the amount of money I’ve wasted on crap. Then I feel a little less bad.

Back home and chilling out

After 4 days of driving to, from and around LA, sleeping on air mattresses and couches, sitting in crappy stadium seating and eating crappy stadium food, I’m glad to be home. I got home a couple hours ago and collapsed into the chair. I’m currently mobile only for a sandwich and then it’s back to immobility.

Wow theres a lot of people here

Just in case you thought this was just some little marching band thing we went to, take a look. There’s 30,000 people here for tonight’s final event. 12 corps, 1 field, there can be only 1 winner. Personally I’m hoping for Carolina Crown to win, but they won’t. They have an amazingly enjoyable show but not nearly the best, most precise, technically proficient show. I’m sure the Blue Devils or Cadets are going to win. They have the most complicated, insanely precise, soulless, boring snoozefests we’ve seen. It’s only my opinion but you weren’t there so that’s the opinion you get.

Downtown Culver City

Manda and I are just hanging out today. I decided that 3 days straight of DCI finals might be overkill since I do have other opportunities like hanging out with my little sister. We also went fabric shopping and are going to watch “Stardust” just like all of you should. Fabric shopping was a little more costly than I was hoping for but I don’t pick out my own fabric that often so this is kind of a treat. It’s also special cool LA fabric so it has to cost more.

A Canadian leaf

Well, that’s what Justin called it. Others would call it a maple leaf. It’s time for the Drum Corps Finals! We’re getting ready to watch 3 days of similar yet better performances, to this corps, The Boston Crusaders. This isn’t for everyone but for ex-band geeks like us, it’s awesome.
