Mix it up

09.29.2006

We have a bunch of new people in the office. Work decided to throw a “mixer” of sorts to kind of get everyone to know each other. Of course they’ve been here for 4 months and the mixer could have been thrown a while ago but these are minor details. It was still a good idea. We discovered ,of course, we all kinda suck at mixing. All the new people at one table, everyone else milling about. Luckily some brave people crossed the boundary and it wasn’t a total loss. Mostly I just want to go home and crash. I haven’t had a week this stressful in a really long time and I’m ready to have it over.

That’s fun that your work had a mixer. Mine decided to go to the UNLV/UNR game and I was like, whatever, I don’t even like football. I’m glad UNR won, though.

  2. Todd says:

UNR?! This reminds me of a t-shirt “What happens in Reno…who cares?”

  3. Yomamma says:

It’s so oblivious, it’ll never notice.

  4. Manduh says:

Your work does seem very clique-ish

Yes it is. And after meeting some of the “new” employees, nothing will change. Don’t be surprised, but the boys are really bad at welcoming in new dudes.

Oh and I’m laughing right now (just like the photo…btw, I was begging to be on 606. Not NEARLY enough real non-movie chicks on here.) since I read that Reno comment. “Who Cares!” Love it!

  6. Yomamma says:

Poor Reno, they try so hard. They FEEL pretty.

  7. Todd says:

I just don’t hang around enough non-movie chicks to take pictures of, unfortunately. And I’m not even going to touch the “bad at welcoming new dudes” thing. I keep trying but it just keeps sounding bad and you never know who’s reading so I’m keeping quiet.

it’s ok, I know you guys have good intentions with new peeps. People do what they want and feel comfortable in. No big deal.

    Like Reno…Who cares?

  9. Manduh says:

poor Reno, it is really taking a bashing.

  10. Matt says:

Reno is too drunk to care about anything.

  11. Yomamma says:

I hear it’s on the smack, too.
