New TV (for me)

06.23.2006

I like the off season for TV. It means that all the seasons are over and anything I haven’t seen is now complete so I don’t get that unfortunate wait between every show. Which is good for an intense show like “Prison Break”. I’ve only seen a few episodes so far but it appears to be living up to its hype.

That is such a good show! Matt and I have been recommending it for awhile, I am surprised you posted this you are just asking for a rant from Matt about how he recommends stuff and you don’t listen and then someone else suggests it and you watch it and like it, Buffy, Angel, I forget but I think there is another one. Similar to how Myya suggested Equilibrium but you didn’t listen to her. You only trust your geek friends.

The hype I am talking about is absolutely your hype. Like I told you before, I was 20% just screwing around with you and 80% sure I was going to watch the show. I just didn’t want to pack it in with all the other TV I was watching during the season. I don’t like being chained to the TV and watching Veronica Mars, Scrubs, My Name is Earl, Lost, Prison Break and Battlestar Galactica, plus whatever happens to be on HBO chains me to the TV. So I wait. It’s much better this way.

  3. Todd says:

I forgot to add this part. Keep in mind I watched the ENTIRE SEASON in a day and a half. Much better than scheduling an hour a week to watch it.

  4. Manduh says:

That would’ve been a much less stressful way to watch the show for sure.

  5. Todd says:

Totally, the suspense, dragged all over a 9 month period would have made me want to hurt someone badly. Lost is bad enough. I don’t need more shows like that

  6. Matt says:

What really sucked about that show was they took taht fucking hiatus in the middle and really messed me up.

  7. Todd says:

Yeah, I noticed that there was one episode that had a really long intro and figured it must have been during the winter break. Luckily that break was exactly long enough for me to get a glass of water and click play…I win again.

  8. Matt says:

    Thieves never win.

  9. Matt says:

I think mandy might be just as angry as I am, but she is used to me doing the rants for both of us. I already yelled at Todd for this earlier. You notice that Todd was talking about the “hype” and yet he didn’t talk about the fact that his siblings were the ones that ‘hyped” the show.

  10. Todd says:

It’s TV. It’s not theiving if they give it away for free over the airwaves.

  11. Manduh says:

HBO doesn’t give it away for free.

  12. Matt says:

You aren’t watching commercials so therefore it is stealing.

  13. Adam says:

TiVo has made criminals of us all! What is this kohm-er-shal that you speak of?

  14. Todd says:

Thank you for that point Adam. Matt is speaking in tongues and has obviously lost his mind.

  15. Todd says:

and AND I pay for HBO so the same rules apply.

  16. Matt says:

I am just taking a devils-advocate point of view. I just hope little shows like Veronica Mars don’t suffer from geeks downloading shows and ruining the ratings.

  17. Manduh says:

Yeah the commercial argument definitely doesn’t work.

  18. Matt says:

I find myself stopping at commercials for girls in bikinis and previews for movies and tv shows, but that is it. Somehow though the FCC allows Tivo to do what it does. Recordtv was shut down because it would automatically skip commercials.

  19. Adam says:

Wait, is Mr. AllOfMP3.com (Matt) trying to accuse Todd of questionable downloading? Glass houses, Matt, glass houses.

  20. Todd says:

Since when did TV show downloading geeks become Neilson families? Oh, that’s right, they aren’t. And Matt knows he’s on spurious ground.

  21. Manduh says:

Oh and now you made his head explode using the word spurious. Just trying to read the word will make all his gears grind to a halt.

  22. Yomamma says:

Devil’s advocate is not a good place to be with this crowd, Matt.

  23. Manduh says:

    Seriously!
