This sucks
06.21.2006
So I called BenQ and ran through some tech support. The dude I got on the phone wasn’t the sharpest. I kept pulling him away from whatever script he was reading and he had to keep going and asking someone who knew what was going on my questions. Eventualy I got to him saying that my problem is that the projector is predicting imminent bulb failure and that I just need a new bulb which they would be happy to sell me. I said, OK, sounds good. If I buy the bulb and it -doesn’t- fix the problem can I return the bulb. This is evidently the dumbest question he heard all day. He basicaly said “Pfft, no, duh….we don’t refund bulbs, what are you thinking? How dumb could you possibly be?” So I’m in the same dillema. I’m -pretty- sure that a bulb will fix my problem but I do want to be able to return the damn thing if it isn’t my problem. Next step, try to find a local store which stocks these things and see if I can return it to -them- if I have to. This whole thing just has me depressed.

Speakers on the tv, not the speakers that were so masterfully set up for surround sound. Remember tv still just goes through the tv speakers because my tv only has one input and other such issues.
Now Todd has to watch tv on his little itty bitty tv, poor guy. Wait a minute that tv is the same size as mine, better picture quality . . . tell me when there is thumping music or explosions to the speakers crackle? How many inputs does it have? I think Todd’s sucky tv watching is better quality than my regular tv watching.
That is not my TV, that is my computer monitor. All 21″ of it. The worst part of it all is that the throne is in the living room
Is Manduh having an issue with her speakers of which I was heretofore unaware??? Crackling speakers!?? Oh, MANNNNDUH!
. . . but of course I consider you family!
So your saying that you are watching crappy tv on purpose? hhhmm?
I really hope the bulb fixes your problem. All this you are going through to make sure you can return it I can understand since it is $400, but you know some members of our family would go through this hassel for a $2 bulb.
And who might you be talking about, I know it is not anybody in this little blog world.
I feel honored that you consider me family, Manduh…
Still better than my everyday tv watching.
I thought “this sucks” because you were watching the sci-fi channel and you realized you might be a realliy big nerd.
I’m almost done with Stargate SG-1/Atlantis and can go back to watching good TV now.
actually I was not referring to Adam.
Zade right you are talking about Zade.
Futurama Returning With New Episodes in 2008!!
Here’s some good news for Futurama fans. In a deal with Comedy Central, new episodes of the series are set to begin production and start airing in 2008:
Comedy Central has resurrected the former Fox animated series from “The Simpsons” creator Matt Groening and David X. Cohen. At least 13 new episodes will be produced for the first time since the series originally ran from 1999-2003. New and old episodes will begin airing in 2008 on Comedy Central. Actors Billy West, Katey Sagal and John DiMaggio have agreed to return as voices for “Futurama.”
Best of all about the renewal is that it spawned an inspired new idea from Seth MacFarlane: Future Guy! It’s like Futurama, but everyone’s stockier, there’s a talking dog, and people make snide comments like this about it to get into arguments about which is funnier.
I heard about this this morning and it’s been all over the office. Nothing like Futurama news to get a whole floor of geeks talking.
So is Futurama considered superior to “The Simpsons” these days?
I don’t think superior, just capable of a different set of topics.
Also it is a more precious commodity since there are so many fewer episodes.
Nice save!
Which makes it easier to memorize almost every one.
