Out of order but damn it’s a good picture
We got a whole crew together to see “Nacho Libre” tonight and have some Hooters dinner. We realized in discussion that there just really isn’t much to eat in the Sunset Station. The best solution is really Fatburger unless you want something with more scenery in which case Hooters wins. Other than that it is very standard, mediocre casino fare. Please note this picture was taken by guest photographer Alex, who nearly cracked under the strain of all this picture taking responsibility. But he did all right in the end.
It’s so beautiful…
I’m back in the throne and my projector is back to brightness levels unseen in months. Today is a good day.
Poker night returns
All I want is my projector bulb and Fedex sadisticaly makes me wait for it!? This is unfair. I will wile away the time with some mad pokerism to take away the pain.
Work work work
Good thing I rested over the weekend because Monday has hit with a vengance. New code has illuminated old problems that we just never knew existed before so now it’s a bug hunt. On top of the new code release I have to get some new graphs working that show data every 5 minutes instead of every hour. Is this like a CPA talking about their work? I’ll stop now.
I am such a slug this weekend
I spent all day yesterday watching TV and it was pretty cool. I decided to do it today as well. To not feel like -quite- such a slug I am doing laundry until the basket is EMPTY. I’ve been dancing around the issue for like 2 months and today is my time, -my time-, to defeat the laundry basket. There have been many battles with heavy casualties on both sides. All fought to a draw, but it is better to live to fight another day than to fall to defeat. Today, I win the war.
New TV (for me)
I like the off season for TV. It means that all the seasons are over and anything I haven’t seen is now complete so I don’t get that unfortunate wait between every show. Which is good for an intense show like “Prison Break”. I’ve only seen a few episodes so far but it appears to be living up to its hype.
This sucks
So I called BenQ and ran through some tech support. The dude I got on the phone wasn’t the sharpest. I kept pulling him away from whatever script he was reading and he had to keep going and asking someone who knew what was going on my questions. Eventualy I got to him saying that my problem is that the projector is predicting imminent bulb failure and that I just need a new bulb which they would be happy to sell me. I said, OK, sounds good. If I buy the bulb and it -doesn’t- fix the problem can I return the bulb. This is evidently the dumbest question he heard all day. He basicaly said “Pfft, no, duh….we don’t refund bulbs, what are you thinking? How dumb could you possibly be?” So I’m in the same dillema. I’m -pretty- sure that a bulb will fix my problem but I do want to be able to return the damn thing if it isn’t my problem. Next step, try to find a local store which stocks these things and see if I can return it to -them- if I have to. This whole thing just has me depressed.
