Now this is a Sunday

I had shopping and laundry to do today and that was it. I got that stuff out of the way early* and plopped down and started reading…this is the life.

*OK early was when myyaonline woke me up with a phone call at 12:30. I should have been up hours before but just…never woke up. Thanks for the wakeup call! Without it there’s no telling how long I would have slept.

I’ve been tricked!

Andy mentioned that they were doing this “DaVinci Code fact or fiction” thing at his church this weekend and asked if I wanted to go. It sounded interesting to me so I said sure. What I -didn’t- realize was that it was really just part of the overall services thing, not like an extra bit or a special event. So, for the first time in my adult life, I am stepping foot into a church. I can only hope I will not get smoted…smited…smitten? Whatever the word, I’m going to hope for the best.

Manduh’s back in town…again. A quick trip this time. After dinner she’s going shopping with Matt…again. It’s like they’re sisters or something. She needs purses, he needs shoes. They are locked into this mutual co-dependant shopping loop and they need an intervention. OK, maybe just Matt. 1 pair of shoes a week for the last month? C’mon man…seek therapy.

I got a bank today…I’m not sure how I feel about it. I’ve used a credit union since I got my first checking account and I’ve grown very used to it. The only problem is that my credit union has 1 branch and it’s not in the city I live in. This is inconvenient. After 2 and a half years I caved and got a bank in Vegas. just hope I’ve been wrong about banks all these years and maybe bank isn’t a 4 letter word after all.

Weird ass movie

Donnie Darko. Instant cult classic. Hadn’t managed so see it yet so someone borrowed it to me (that’s for you Justin) The funny thing was that everyone said “You should totally see this movie” but no one followed it up with “it’s really good” it was always followed by “it’s really strange” An hour into it….it’s really strange. I guess we’ll see how the rest turns out.

After last weeks hiatus I’m back to dealing again. It really is a nice way to spend an evening. Especialy since I’m not actualy risking any money. I get a vicarious thrill watching other people play. It’s hard to remember that it’s real money sometimes. The little colored chips abstract the whole idea and make it seem less real. To me anyway, and, like I said, I didn’t have to actualy “buy” any so maybe it’s different for those playing. Hopefuly I can stay awake for the event. I’m still sleeping like poo lately and I’m not sure why. I’ve been eliminating variables one by one and tonight I’m going to try lowering the A/C. I’ve been leaving it at 70 which over the winter was fine, it actualy was lower than that at night. I’m pushing it down to like 65 and seeing what happens. It’s time for drastic measures. I’m starting to feel like Ed Norton at the beginning of “Fight Club”.

Happy Mothers Day!

We all were in town for Mothers Day so we went to BC and cooked dinner for our Ma and G-Ma. We even cleaned up…OK Dad and Matt cleaned up. I kept having to work. The problems from Friday popped up al weekend sporadicaly. Those can be dealt with however. Mom really likes her photo printer which is what really counts. I don’t think she’s ready for the whole digital picture thing but being able to print her own photos right at home seems to be right up her alley.
