I look like a doof
Chris finally approved her half of this picture so I ran with it even though I look weird. I’ve been working some crap hours this week. Just too much going on and not enough time to do it all. I did manage to meet the Shiverbakers for a quick Crabshack dinner. It was a good choice since it meant Jessi could play on the playground. Which went well until some kid clocked her with a shovel. Being 4 years old has its advantages though. After a hug she was ready to play some more with her newfound friend. Life used to be so simple.
Gambling is bad
Free drinks or not gambling just doesn’t pay. Unless you’re Rodric. We went to Putters to visit Kimmy again and to have some white russians and burgers. We had Starbucks “kahlua” with esspresso vodka and of course half and half. I highly recommend this combination.
Monday night football at Roadrunner
We didn’t know it was monday night football. This unfortnate fact was not discovered until we walked in the door. The US Open was playing, but did they show that? Of course not. As always the food was good and even though we didn’t have our normal waitress we also didn’t have that one idiot so it was good. And the White russians were excellent, as always.
Movie review time!
“Steamboy” is a new movie by the same guy who did “Akira” and it is brilliant. Amazingly good mix of standard and computer animation, good story, good dubs if you don’t feel like subtitles. This is the most productive thing I did today. I didn’t even get out of bed till noon. Then I felt like I needed a nap for the rest of the afternoon. Let’s hope for better things tomorrow.
Relaxed evening
It’s probably a waste for a Friday night but I’m sitting and watching comedy. The Tivo, blessed device that it is, found one of my favorite comedians on HBO. Uncensored Louis C.K. Ought to be interesting. Then I have some saved up Tivoism to get through…I need a more comfortable couch.
Restaurant review
I went to Samba at the Mirage with Chris and Jason and Jessica, the cutest 4 year old ever. Samba is a brazilian place where the waiters just wander around with meat on these long swords and you just carve pieces off at will. It’s all you can eat and well worth it. The best part is that you can stare at all the tourists while you enjoy dinner which is always entertaining.
Wh…where…I…WAAAAAAA
Matt, Alex and I decided to meet up for Sushi Mon. The 606 alarm went off and Alex started to hyperventilate because Matt wasn’t here yet. Here is the picture of that moment. Matt showed up about 2 minutes later so everything was OK.
